The cruiser market is abuzz with the arrival of Moto Morini's latest model, the Calibro 700, in Malaysia. "Ini Calibro" is equipped with a 693cc engine, and is launched by Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Moto Morini in Malaysia. This model features a parallel twin, 4-stroke engine with an 8-valve, DOHC mechanism, and a slipper clutch. The Calibro 700 is priced at RM35,888.00, excluding insurance and road tax, and is available at all authorized Moto Morini dealers across Malaysia.
One of its standout features is the front design, which incorporates a Big Front Fairing and wind protector. Finished in Quartz Black, the Calibro 700 projects a bold and commanding look, especially on the road. Its hybrid meter combines analog features with an LCD display, while the headlight uses a bright LED projector with modern technology, effectively reducing glare for oncoming traffic.
Unlike most motorcycles, the Calibro 700 is equipped with a belt drive instead of a chain. This feature minimizes vibration during rides, enhancing comfort over long journeys, and it eliminates rust issues, reducing reliance on lubricants.
With an output of 55hp at 8,500rpm and 68Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, the Calibro 700 has a compression ratio of 11.6:1 . Its bore and stroke measure 83mm x 64mm, with a length of 2,220mm, width of 860mm, and height of 1,260mm. It has a wheelbase of 1,490mm and a moderate weight for a cruiser, at 228kg.
The front tire, sized 130/70-18, is paired with a 320mm single-disc brake system with dual-piston floating calipers, while the rear tire, sized 180/65-16, comes with a 255mm single-disc floating caliper. The front suspension is a 41 mm conventional fork, and the rear suspension uses twin shock absorbers.
For safety, this black cruiser is equipped with dual-channel ABS to help control braking, especially on slippery surfaces. Additionally, the Daytime Running Light (DRL) enhances the bike's visibility to other road users during the day. The Calibro 700 also features a Side Stand Kill Switch, which ensures the engine can only start when the side stand is fully retracted, enhancing rider safety at the start of every ride.
Two front storage pockets offer convenient spaces for valuables like a smartphone or wallet, and a Type-A USB charging port enables riders to charge their devices on the go. With a 15-liter fuel tank, this model is ideal for long-distance rides without frequent refueling.
The seat design also plays a key role in ensuring comfort, with the Calibro 700's high-quality seat set at a height of around 705mm, making it suitable for riders of various sizes.
Specifically designed for the Malaysian market, Calibro 700 comes with a dual-seat setup and is equipped with storage boxes on both the left and right sides of the rear seat, each with a 20-liter capacity. These storage boxes are also fitted with reflectors to enhance the motorcycle's visibility, especially at night.
To ensure the safety of items stored inside, the interior of the storage boxes is cushioned to reduce impact and prevent damage.
With the addition of a wind guard, the Calibro 700 presents an exclusive identity, distinct from the standard global specifications.
With every purchase of the Moto Morini Calibro 700, buyers will enjoy a two-year unlimited mileage warranty and the convenience of online genuine spare parts purchasing through MForce Bike Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
